Founded in 1958 by Fr. Edwin J. Guild, OMI, the National Shrine of Our Lady of the Snows is one of the largest outdoor shrines in North America. It is located in Belleville, Illinois, only 10 minutes from downtown St. Louis, Missouri.
Today the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate, with the help of a dedicated lay staff, continue to offer visitors from all over the United States the same gospel message within the beautiful surroundings of the National Shrine of Our Lady of the Snows.
The National Shrine of Our Lady of the Snows provides an atmosphere where people of all faiths have the opportunity to deepen their relationship with God and one another.
We offer Catholic religious programs and devotional areas for spiritual renewal on two hundred landscaped acres. We model Christian hospitality in our restaurant, lodging, gift shop and conference center.
