The National Office
Br. Tom was born and raised in Hecker Illinois with 5 brothers and 3 sisters. Graduated from St. Henry's Seminary in 1967. Attended Lewis College and Novitiate, Godfrey, IL 1969 and took first vows in August 1970. It was during this year that he first came in contact with Fr. John Maronic and the Victim Missionaries (as they were called then). Made final profession as an Oblate in 1976. For the next 34 years has worked in Missouri, Illinois, South Dakota, Wisconson, Nebraska, and Minnesota.
Bette is a lifelong resident of Belleville, IL. She has 2 sisters (both of whom have been her co-worker or boss) and 1 brother. She has spent 30 years in education—as an elementary teacher in a Catholic school and as the Latchkey Director at a local daycare. In 2004, she returned to the “other side of the desk,” and became a graduate student at Aquinas Institute of Theology in St. Louis. She graduated in May 2010 with a degree in Masters of Arts in Pastoral Studies and a certificate in Spiritual Direction.
