Br. Tom was born and raised in Hecker Illinois with 5 brothers and 3 sisters. Joined the Oblates and took first vows in August 1970. He has a master’s degree in Christian Spirituality from Creighton University. For the past 46 years has worked at Native American ministries, Houses of Formation, Retreat Centers and parishes.
Bette Meyer, MAPS, SD

Bette is a lifelong resident of Belleville, IL. She has 2 sisters (both of whom have been her co-worker or boss) and 1 brother. She has spent 30 years in education—as an elementary teacher in a Catholic school and as the Latchkey Director at a local daycare. In 2004, she returned to the “other side of the desk,” and became a graduate student at Aquinas Institute of Theology in St. Louis. She graduated in May 2010 with a degree in Masters of Arts in Pastoral Studies and a certificate in Spiritual Direction.
